Moelwyn Gymnastics Club was founded in 1984 by Lynda Dodd.

The story of Moelwyn Gymnastics began when Lynda moved to Blaenau Ffestiniog from Yorkshire. Once settled in the area Lynda found there wasn't any gymnastics clubs in the area and decided to open Blaenau Ffestiniog Gymnastics Club. Blaenau Ffestiniog Gymnastics Club later became known as Moelwyn Gymnastics Club. 

 

Moelwyn Gymnastics provides coaching in recreational and competitive gymnastics. The club competes in Acrobatic Gymnastics where gymnasts compete in pairs or groups.  Over the years Moelwyn Gymnastics has produced North Wales, Welsh, British and International Champions at all levels.

During October 2021 Moelwyn Gymnastics Club became Moelwyn Gymnastics Academy a not for profit company limited by guarantee. Moelwyn Gymnastics Academy is dedicated to provide a safe and fun environment for all to take part in gymnastics. The academy will provide recreational and elite gymnastics activities to the county of Gwynedd.
